Established in 2000, Kaipuke is a management consultancy, specialising in public sector policy development, facilitation and negotiation, training and relationship management, research, monitoring and evaluation.

who we are

Kaipuke’s directors John Whaanga (Ngāti Rakaipaaka, Ngāti Kahungunu) and Lisa Davies (Ngāti Rehua, Ngāti Wai), combine to offer their clients a broad range of public sector policy and management skills and experience.

John is an experienced management consultant and a recognised Māori health commentator. John was previously the policy manager in the Ministry of Health’s Te Kete Hauora, a member of the Hawkes Bay District Health Board, and a member of the Māori Health Commission. John offers a wide range of experience spanning iwi development, Māori education and resource management.

Lisa has extensive experience in public sector management, research and policy. Over the past 15 years, she has held senior management roles within Te Puni Kōkiri (responsible for the Monitoring, Research and Evaluation and Policy functions) and the State Services Commission (responsible for the Treaty of Waitangi Information Programme). Lisa began her public service career as a researcher and has demonstrated expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Te Manu Whakahiato Kahukura

Sponsored by the Ministry of Health, Te Manu Whakahiato Kahukura is a professional development programme. It is designed to build whanaungatanga, strength and performance for iwi and Māori involved in health and governance and management relationship boards with District Health Boards and at a regional level.

Who should enrol?

Participant numbers are restricted to 10 per District Health Board area.

Additional numbers will be subject to availability.
